Vrbnik, such as many other old castles on the island, is situated high up on a cliff that literally dives into the sea, at almost 50 meters in height.
Today, the most famous and important product of Vrbnik Field and Vrbnik is in fact its golden wine-Žlahtina; which has become prominent even in wider Croatian circles.
Vrbnik is still, mostly, a place for excursions, which presents its advantage among other towns.
With its rich history, Vrbnik is called the cradle of Croatian literacy and is certainly one of the oldest places on the island of Krk.
Narrow streets dominate in Vrbnik, so it is not surprising that the narrowest street in the world is located exactly here.
